My AC at the apartment sputtered to death last night. It was a hot and sticky night (~84F), and it cooled off a bit this morning from the rain (~78F) but now it's back to 82F. It's supposed to get up to 89F today, I hope they fix it before it does. I'm lucky it didn't do this when it was 95F outside ( Read more... )

When renting DVDs, I occasionally get a really badly scratched one. I can send it back for a replacement, but that takes time. When I watch them on my linux box (I have no TV and I loaned out my hardware DVD player), I have a few choices in players. Today, one of our NJ offices fell off the net. Apparently a mouse was nesting in the telco equipment (perhaps because computer equipment can double as a space heater).
